a BME építészettörténeti és muemléki tanszékén folyó tervezésoktatás szorosan kapcsolódik értékes épített és táji környezetünk védelméhez. az akadémikus tudás gyakorlati alkalmazása a szituációs elemzéstol a karaktervizsgálat és a kortárs építészeti tendenciák ismeretével a valós helyzetvizsgálatból indul ki. a specifikumok szintjén a természeti tájérték, a falu karakterének megorzése, a kistelepülési lépték és a suru városi szövetbe illesztett beavatkozások aktuális kérdéseivel foglalkoznak a hallgatók terveikben - nem csak magyarországi, hanem számos nemzetközi workshop alkalmával külföldi helyszíneken is. oktatói oldalról a muemléki szemlélet kiegészül a kortárs építészeti alkotómetódusok megismertetésével - így adva komplex választ a korszellem és történeti huség fogalmaira.
a kiállítás az építészettörténeti ismereteken alapuló tervezésoktatás utóbbi két évtizedét mutatja be. egyik részében a ma már komoly praxissal rendelkezo egykori hallgatók zsengéi mellett az azóta készült alkotásaik láthatóak, míg a másik, nagyobb anyag az utóbbi évek diploma- és komplex tervein keresztül ad képet a tanszéki tervezésoktatás új irányairól. a tervekben és alkotásokban megjeleno értelmezések közös alapja a történeti kontextus.
a közös emlékezet megteremtésének és ápolásának feladata gyakorlati feladat, az építészet alapveto, hajlékteremto rendeltetésébol következik. építeni mindenkor csak elodeinktol szerzett, megfelelo ismeretek birtokában tudtunk és tudunk ma is, és az építés munkájával ezt a bölcsességet örökítjük, adjuk tovább, miközben módosítjuk is saját idonk gyakorlatának tapasztalataival. az építés mindig az emberek modus vivendi-je, valamikor valahol a természetben. a hogyan éltünk, hogyan élünk és hogyan fogunk élni kérdésre adott válasz, idorol idore egy történeti helyen. ahogy jacques derrida fogalmazta meg nagyon szépen: ha nincs az élo jelennek ez a nem-egyidejusége önmagával, ha nincs, ami titokban megbontja azt, ha nincs ez a felelosség és igazságszeretet azokkal szemben, akik nincsenek ott, akik nincsenek már, vagy nincsenek még jelen éloként, akkor mi értelme föltenni a kérdést: 'merre tartunk?', 'merre tartunk holnap?. pazár béla
the design curriculum at the BUTE department for history of architecture and of monuments is closely aligned with the protection of our valuable built and natural environment. the practical application of academic knowledge stems from situation analysis and character analysis, and in contemporary architectural tendencies from examining real life situations. specifically, the students explore in their designs the practical questions about the value of landscapes, the conservation of the character of a village, the scale of a small township, and the alterations of a dense urban fabric - at hungarian and international workshops. from the teacher's side, the approach to the monuments is supplemented with the knowledge of contemporary architectural design methods - thus giving complex answers to the questions of modernity and adherence to history.
the exhibition showcases the past two decades of design education based on the history of architecture. the first part shows the student work of architects who lead serious careers since then, along with their more recent work, the second and larger part gives an idea of the new directions the department is taking in design education through the diploma works and complex designs from the past couple of years. the common denominator in interpreting these designs and works is historical context.
the establishment and cultivation of a common memory is a practical task that stems from the basics, homemaking function of architecture. we can, and could always, only build with the proper knowledge inherited from our ancestors, and through the work of architecture we pass this knowledge on, while modifying it with the experience acquired in our own practice. building has always been humanity's modus vivendi, at some place and some time in nature. at each point in history it gave the answer to the questions of how we used to live, how we live now, and how we will live. jacques derrida put it beautifully: without this non-contemporaneity within itself of the living present, without that which secretly unhinges it, without this responsibility and this respect for justice concerning those who are not there, or those who are no longer, or not yet present and living, what sense would there be to ask the question 'where?'
