After half a year of preparations, we are
thrilled to announce the opening of The Institute
of Spatial Sound, a new global center for
research and development in the field of spatial
sound and immersive sonic environments.
4DSOUND <www.4dsound.net> and Art Quarter
Budapest <www.aqb.hu> are developing a
large-scale spatial sound studio, project space
and twenty residencies to support artists,
technologists and researchers in the field of
spatial sound.
We will celebrate the inauguration of the new
space with a two-day sound exhibition on Friday
16th and Saturday 17th of October, in
collaboration with the CAFe Contemporary Art
Festival Budapest <cafebudapestfest.hu>.
The exhibition forms a retrospective of works
created especially for 4DSOUND during the past
four years by a range of artistic collaborators
from the field of music, arts and immersive
technologies, including live spatial sound
performances by Gábor Lázár, Marcel Wierckx and
Frank Bretschneider, lectures by John Connell,
Paul Oomen, Robert Jan-Liethoff, sound sculptures
by Murcof, Max Cooper, Thomas Vaquié, John
Connell & Florence To, Marco Donnarumma and more.
The event will be the premiere showing of 4DSOUND in Hungary.
