[artinfo] open call for mikro_makro festival PERIPHERIES

The organizers of mikro_makro festival (Slupsk, Poland) are inviting
to submit the works on dvd (movies, video, documentations of art
works) as well as internet realizations, printed materials and texts.
The subjects of presentations are PERIPHERIES. We encourage artists,
and organizers working outside of big art centers and/or main
movements.

mikro_makro exists and works for 3 years. Our aim is to initiate an
open interdisciplinary festival, which shows the possibilities of
combining different mediums.

The deadline for sending the presentations is 03.11.2009r.

mikro_makro festival exists, and works for 3 years. Our aim is to
initiate an open interdisciplinary festival, which shows the
possibilities of combining different mediums.

>From the very beginning people ask:”Why don't you move to Warsaw?”, or
“When will you move to Gdansk?”. So- we wonder: why should one move
activities toward the center?
mikro_makro is a festival working at peripheries. Peripheries,
outskirts, fringe suggest, that someone is working away from the
center, but not outside, or in abruption.
Do we have to move toward the center- toward the interior?
What is the sense of peripheries in a democratic, free country? What
is the sense of it in science, politics, culture?
