Drawing depicted,
Present but invisible

Organization: Kunstverein INGAN e.V., www.ingan.gmxhome.de

Place: Berlin Mitte

Date of exhibition: 31. März 2006 + 1. April 2006. This exhibition is member
of the Galerierundgang Mitte-Nord parallel to Berlin-Biennale 2006.

Choice: 10 artists with 2 till 5 hand-made drawings each not bigger than DIN
A 4 will be selected from the Kunstverein INGAN
e.V. Members of it may not apply.

Entry deadline: 1st of March 2006

Contribution towards expenses: 10,- eu (only for the 10 selected artists)

Concept: For the exhibition original hand-made drawings will be digitalized.
In the exhibition only the immaterial digital representation will be
visible. The original is present, but invisible. Therefore the title:
Drawing depicted Present but invisible

Questions: Because of this immaterialization is the drawing itself called
into question? What happens to the "Aura of original"? We will thematize
catchwords such as Originality, Presence, Absence, Representation,
Simulation and Reality.

Exhibition: A digital interface will be projected in the exhibition setting
at a scale at about 1.5 x 2.5 meters. There, all the drawings in the
exhibition will be available to viewers and all works will be able to be
enlarged at the click of a mouse. The original will at the same time be
present in the exhibition in a locked box, but not be visible or otherwise
accessible. What value does the representation receive? Does the box begin
to pulsate?

Application: Please send us 2 till 5 scanned drawings for the selection
process.
- resolution 150 dpi at original size
- not bigger than DIN A 4
- jpeg or tif
- please, no converted, zipped or otherwise compressed files

by e-mail to: ingan_zeichnung at gmx.net

Do not forget details about yourself:
address, telephone number, relevant links in the internet and CV
and details about the work: title, technique, date, format

Guaranty: We guarantee all rights regarding the protection of your
intellectual property. We delete all files after the process of selection.
We contact the 10 selected artists to obtain optimal scans of the work.

      Sincerely,
     Andreas Greußlich (Kunstverein INGAN e.V.)
