U.K. Sound Producer
UK Sound TV is a broadband TV channel produced and directed by a team of
youth producers from Roman Road in Bow, E3. The channel looks at street
networks, focusing on emergent music, technology and street culture in east
London, in particular the urban grime music scene. (Check out

As well as providing a platform for young people and their communities, UK
Sound, offers hands on training to young people in East London.
Following a successful pilot broadcast in July 05, the producer’s team is
planning a series of 3 broadcasts in March/April 06. We are looking for a
producer to manage this.
We need someone who has fantastic communication and organisational skills
and can work well under pressure.
The successful candidate will need the following:
• Extensive production experience
• Know how to schedule programmes, set up shoots and oversee post production
• Understand the benefits and restrictions of Broadband TV
• Experience of working with young people from inner city communities
• Understand how to manage training opportunities

This is a freelance position for 10 weeks with an imminent start date.
Closing date for applications is Mon 6th February. Interviews will be held
in the same week. The salary is £600 / week.
The project is executively produced by a youth production team, SPACE,
Hi8us South and Old Ford Housing. The intention of the project is that it
as far as possible it should be led by the youth producing group.
