A kismeretu porcelanszobrokat bolhapiacokon talalom. Mivel el vanna torve, =
 altalaban valami fontos reszuk hianyzik, a fejuk, a labuk, a karjuk, =
 megragasztom oket. A ragasztas gyors, a muvelet egyszeru es kicsit durva. A=
  szobrok eleve torteneteket hordoznak, gyakran idealizaltak es giccsesek.=
 Amit  hozzajuk adok, bizonyos ertelemben mar jelen van, a megjeleno forma=
 jateka  tagitja ki a tartalmat. A szobrok temai azzal a szandekkal vannak=
 eltulozva es  tartalmilag leterhelve, hogy elmozditsak az eredeti kontextus=
 kenyelmes es  szimpla oromerzeset. Ez a kenyelmetlen es elmozditott erzes=
 mas muveket taplal.  Az otthon es a haz szolgalnak helyszinkent a temak kie=
lesere.

I find the small porcelain figures in flee markets. As they are broken I fix=
  them, usually they are missing their extremities, head, hands, limbs. The=
 fixing  is quick, the craft simple and a little crude. The porcelains=
 already contain  forms of narrative, often they are idealised and kitsch.=
 What I add to them in a  sense is already present, a form of play occurs=
 that stretches them and makes  them more. Themes are exaggerated and=
 content overloaded in order to produce  displacement of the comfort and=
 simple pleasure for which they were originally  produced. It is this=
 feeling for discomfort and displacement that feeds other  works. The home=
 and the house act as a site for these themes to be played  out.

David Wilkinson is a London-based artist from the North of England. His =
 practice includes video, sculpture and time-based work. He likes showing=
 his  work outside of the gallery space. He has exhibited in several solo-=
 and group  exhibitions internationally, including Tramway, Glasgow; Museum=
 of Contemporary  Art, Helsinki; Austrian Cultural Forum, London. He has=
 also been known to create  and organize in collaboration with other=
