… mert a csoport szívügyének tekinti az erzsébetvárosi tűzfalak renoválását, felületük képzőművészeti alkotásokkal borítását
nemzetközi…
… mert a pályázati kiírásra 152 alkotás érkezett 4 földrész 12 országának 47 alkotójától
a program megvalósításán az élő tűzfalak budapest csoport dolgozik. tagjai az erzsébetvárosban élnek, és a tűzfalak problematikája foglalkoztatja őket. ily módon könnyen tudtak kapcsolódni ocztos istván programjához, amelyben az ötletgazda a kerület megannyi tűzfalából kiválasztott hármat, és nemzetközi pályázatot írt ki képzőművészeti alkotások tervezésére. célja első lépésben a hetedik kerület néhány tűzfalának helyreállítása, állagmegóvása, hőszigetelése, valamint a pályázatban szereplő, az adott tűzfalra készült művek elhelyezése. az abszolút városképi elemnek tekinthető óriási kihasználatlan felületek számos lehetőséget rejtenek magukban, amelyek szebbé, igzalmasabbá, ápoltabbá teszik a környezetet. a tűzfalak hasonló formai kialakítása miatt a művek könnyen adoptálhatók másik helyszínre is, így hosszú távon a program egész budapestre kiterjeszthető. megvalósulása javítaná a városképet, és turisztikai vonzerőt is jelentene a kerület és budapest számára.

… because 152 projects by 47 artists from 12 countries of 4 continents were submitted for the design competition
the living firewalls budapest group is working to realize this program. Its members live in erzsébetváros, and are preoccupied by the problems of firewalls. In this way they can easily join in on István ocztos’s program, in which he chose three out of the several firewalls of the district and opened an international competition for fine arts designs for them. the goal, as the first step in the project, is to restore, preserve, insulate, as well as decorate with each winning design of the competition a couple of firewalls in the 7th district. these gigantic unutilized surfaces which are a definite part of the city’s image have a lot of potential to make their environment more beautiful, more exciting, and more well-maintained. since the shape of all firewalls is similar, the designs are easily adapted to other locations as well, thus the program can be extended to the entire city of budapest in the long run. If the project was carried out, it would improve the city’s image, and could increase the touristic attraction of the disctrict and of budapest.
