What did the sky look like yesterday? This interactive web project called  invites visitors to revisit a moment in time through a blend of science, data, and imagination. Rather than showing a simple weather report or satellite image, the project transforms atmospheric conditions into a poetic portrait of the sky, creating a more emotional way to think about the places we inhabit.

The experience includes factors like real cloud conditions, humidity, precipitation, air quality, and sunset timing. All of these elements come together to build a unique visual and written description of the sky over a chosen location. My favorite part of the site is watching the background transform to reflect the way the sky looked.

You can type in your city to see the sky in that particular location. Once you visit the sky for your city, you'll be given a description that is part science and part emotional description of what the sky feels like. The project turns ordinary environmental data into something personal, asking us to reconnect with the world above us.
