Hello

I am pleased to inform you of the release of the Mitzpah record " Lonesome Harvest : re-enactment N°1 (Paris 1981) ".

This is a record that has a particular history since it is the complete re-recording of an aborted project from 1981... Project dear to my heart...

The musical genre is rather that of Post-Punk/New Wave of the time on which we produced a work of recreation with as a result a record at the same time contemporary and vintage.

The cover is made by Loulou Picasso (painter and active member of the famous Bazooka collective).
The vinyl is accompanied by a 12-page booklet in 30 cm / 30 cm format
Three risographies of Loulou Picasso around the record are also available.

The first video-clip of the record is visible at this address :

The second video-clip of the record is visible at this address :

The record can be ordered (CD, Vinyl, but also risographies...) at this address :

This record has received the financial support of the Agnès B. foundation. (Béatitude Musique) and the CNM (Centre National de la Musique).

Thank you for supporting this project in the measure of your possibilities (spread this mail around you, order the record...)

Thanking you
Hervé Zénouda

//----- Official mail
Today, Wednesday April 20th, Pop Supérette is very proud to announce the release of the video clip " Andy Warhol (Eight Days A Week) ", first extract of " Lonesome Harvest " by the band Mitzpah (to be released on May 13th 2022, distribution Modulor).

Mitzpah is a short-lived duo formed in Paris in 1981 by two actors of the European punk of the first hour: Hervé Zénouda (Stinky Toys, Mathématiques Modernes...) and Gregory Davidow (Spions). As early as 1978, Zénouda, more inclined to experimentation than to a neo-yeah revival, met this completely different character, recently expelled from Hungary, performer-singer, writer and founder of the first punk band in the Eastern bloc (Spions). That summer of 1981, they recorded Zénouda's compositions with the precious help of the Modern Guy's, including Yann Le Ker. Forty years later, never having forgotten this aborted project, Zénouda decided to re-record all the tracks by re-contacting the original musicians, with the idea of keeping the spirit of the time.

"Andy Warhol (Eight Days A Week)" is the track that opens the record with visionary lyrics (written in 1981): statement of the end of the counter-cultural parenthesis and announcement of the total assimilation of pop as a cog in the industrial economy ("Underground will be nationalized").
