> If you have any students interested in our socially engaged art programs this is a good time to let them know about it, they or you can find out more SOCIAL PRACTICE DEGREE NYC <http://www.socialpracticequeens.org/degree/>. Our current application deadline is November 15th. Note too that we are a public school, so tuition is lower than most other US universities and colleges. We also have some funds for student projects. In addition,we have now added a new 34 Credit post-graduate Advanced Certificate In Critical Social Practice to the already offered Master of Fine Art degree. I must say too that with the madness coming out of Washington including attempted travel bans we have seen a reduction in the number of foreign students applying to our program and I really want to reverse that trend with your help. Please pass this information on to prospective candidates.

> Social Practice Queens (SPQ) <http://socialpracticequeens.org/> is a unique, pedagogical collaboration between Queens College CUNY’s MFA program and the Queens Museum in which the resources of a noted academic research institution are paired with those of an innovative, community-oriented art institution in order to foster social justice through art. Initiated in 2009, this MFA concentration integrates studio work into communities in order to achieve real world outcomes locally and beyond. Currently, students are creating an inter-religious festival with Queens houses of worship to celebrate religious diversity and promote cultural exchange. At the 2014 Venice Biennale, students addressed migrant labor exploitation in the Gulf. A previous project worked with urban studies researchers to re-envision a neglected Corona Plaza central to Queens’ Latino community.
