The submission of applications for participation in the III
Moscow International Biennale for Young Art    "Oui Vive?" has begun
(till December 15th). Registration is open online on www.youngart.ru.
Moscow International Biennale for Young Art is one of the
largest and most ambitious projects realized on the Moscow art scene
in the field of contemporary art today. The Biennale brings together
artistic initiatives from all over the world.

The curator of the Biennale 2012 is Kathrin Becker (Berlin), curator
at the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.). She works with
institutions in Europe, Asia, Russia, United States and Latin America.
“Under A Tinsel Sun” is the theme of the III Moscow International
Biennale for Young Art.

The Biennale, as its forerunners, focuses on a young generation of
artists aged up to 35 years. “Under A Tinsel Sun” assumes that,
despite the cultural, economic and social differences that may exist
between the participants from different countries, there is a common
factor in the impossibility of locating oneself by belonging to
certain peer groups (whether in the ideological or in the artistic
sense).

Biennale for Young Art "Qui Vive? " will be held  July - August 2012
and will present works by young artists - objects, graphics,
paintings, installations, photos, multimedia, videos, performances,
sound art, etc. A special educational program will be introduced,
consisting of a series of master classes, lectures and round tables
with participation of art historians, critics, curators and artists
from all over the world.

For the first time at the Biennale 2012 there will be a
contest among the participants. The jury will include leading Russian
and international experts in the field of contemporary art.

The main exhibition locations for the Biennale 2012 will be: Central
House of Artists , National Center for Contemporary Art, Moscow Museum
of Modern Art .

This year it is organized in collaboration with Neuer Berliner
Kunstverein (n.b.k.).
