A munkasosztaly a paradicsomba ment?
„A globalis gazdasagi valsag egyik kovetkezmenyekent naponta ujabb
uzemek bezarasarol, leepitesekrol, elbocsatasokrol hallunk: a
maskulonben joval lassabban zajlo folyamat, amelynek kereteben peldaul a
cegek a mind olcsobb munkaerot es nyersanyagokat kinalo orszagokba
telepulnek at, itthon is drasztikusan, a motivaciokat meg
felreerthetetlenebb modon lattatva gyorsult fel. A munka elvesztesevel
nem csak a viszonylagos anyagi, de a tarsadalmi- es az onertekeles adta
szemelyes biztonsag is odavesz. Kimeletlen, de belathato modon a munkas
ekkor valik egy pillanatra ujra lathatova, szelesebb politikai es
tarsadalmi diskurzusok reszeve. Amig a dolgok haladnak a maguk
elfogadott, azaz normalis medreben, addig o joreszt gazdasagi tenyezo,
termeloero es fogyaszto, szemelye aligha tart szamot erdeklodesre. Lete
alapfeltetel, evidencia, alakja epp ezert lathatatlan.
A nem pusztan illusztrativ muveszet, amennyiben erzekenyseget mutat
azirant a tarsadalmi konstrukcio irant, amelynek maga is resze, idorol
idore megkuzd a munkas abrazolasanak kihivasaival. Ennyiben komolyan
elgondolkodik azon a kerdesen, hogy mikent lehet a munkaja felett
kontrollt nem gyakorlo embert munkaskent, tehat nem pusztan a
munkafolyamat reszekent, vagy nem kizarolag a munkarol levalasztott
individuumkent bemutatni. A feladat jo esetben a muvesz sajat szerepenek
meghatarozasat is elkerulhetetlenne teszi.
A muvesz erezhet egyfajta empatikus sorskozosseget a munkassal,
tekinthet ra ugy, mint a tarsadalmi valtozas bazisara – a motivaciok sem
hagyjak feledni a poziciok es tetek kulonbozoseget. Legyen bar oszinte
hanem arrol is, hogy ezzel a muvesz sajat muveszetenek definiciojat
targyalja ujra.”

The Working Class has gone to Heaven?
" Twenty years after the democratic transitions in Eastern Europe,
global capitalism is not a promise or threat any more, but an everyday
reality. As a result of the crisis we can hear about plants closing,
layoffs and downsizing every day: the otherwise much slower process, in
the scope of which companies keep relocating to countries offering
cheaper workforce and raw materials, has drastically, ever more
obviously revealing the motives.
The loss of a job not only entails the loss of relative financial
safety, but also that of the personal security provided by social- and
self-respect. This is when, in a merciless but understandable manner,
the worker becomes visible for a moment, part of wider political and
social discourses.
Inasmuch as not-purely-illustrative art shows sensitivity towards the
social construct it is part of, from time to time it has to face the
challenge of rendering the worker – and let us not forget: this also
comprises resolving its own identity crisis. Consequently, it seriously
ponders the problem of representing the human, who has no control over
her/his work, as a worker nevertheless; that is, not solely as part of
the process or solely as an individual extracted from the context of
work. There is a good chance that this task will make the definition of
the artist's own role unavoidable."
