Dear Visitors,

Joanna Rajkowska’s exhibition „Airways” in Trafo Gallery closes this
weekend, Sunday 30 November!

“…Joanna Rajkowska invited fifteen people on a nearly one-hour
flightseeing tour. The guests included a representative of the Hungarian
Guard and one of the Goy Motorbikers, two organisations of the Hungarian
far-right, known for their specifically strong public appearances. These
two groups are expressing their visions and formulating their image of
the enemy and group identity in a way that was unheard of in Hungary
until recently (yet familiar from another time and place). The other
thirteen participants are foreigners living in Hungary, former refugees,
Gypsy and Jewish Hungarians, members of sexual minorities and a homeless
person; in a word, all those who often appear in nationalist rhetoric as
potential sources of conflict, and whose appearance in the public space
regularly excites severe counterreaction on that side…”
