Terepszemle, avagy inter- és transzdiszciplináris reflexiók
II. Debreceni Nemzetközi Művésztelep 

A második Debreceni Nemzetközi Művésztelep kéthetes tematikus rezidens 
programja a kortárs képzőművészet önkiterjesztésének jó néhány évtizede 
zajló eseményeire kíván reflektálni, mikor meghívott résztvevőinek a 
terepszemle (terepkutatás) nem titkoltan tudományos felhanggal kezelt 
fogalmát, s módszerét tálalja fel. 

A kéthetes program kapcsolódási pontokat keres a kortárs képzőművészet és a 
társművészetek, valamint a társadalom és a természettudomány fellelhető 
szegmensei között. Remények szerint a meghívott művészek itt készülő munkái, 
kvázi kísérletei, szociális köztéri akciói, performanszai e valós vagy vélt 
tudományközeliséget prezentálják majd a nagyközönség felé felvillantva egy 
vágyott kohéziót a diszciplínák között. Természetesen e terepkutatási 
program során létrejövő sajátos elmozdítás mozzanatához, vagyis a művészet 
és a tudomány saját biztonságos közegéből való kimerészkedésének, s egymásra 
találásának aktusához Debrecen közterein "visszafogott komolysággal" 
javasolt közelíteni, hisz; Jean Jacques Lebel szavaival élve: ,"a művészet 
lehet nagyon is játékos és szórakoztató. Attól még tisztelhetjük."

FIELD SURVEY, or inter- and transdisciplinary reflections
II. Debrecen International artists' Colony 

The two-week thematic resident programme of the 2nd International 
Artists’ Colony of Debrecen wishes to reflect upon events that have 
been going on as part of the process of self-extracting in contemporary fine 
arts for several decades, when choosing FIELD SURVEY (field study), a 
concept consciously loaded with scientific overtones, as its organizing 
theme and method. The setting for all of this is a city that gained a 
reputation both domestically and internationally for its scientific life, 
and whose renewal of the fine arts scene in recent years surprised many 
across the country. Our two-week programme aims to take advantage of these 
favourable winds and explore the meeting points between the living and 
breathing contemporary fine arts and the attendant art forms on the one 
hand, and social and natural sciences on the other hand. It is our hope that 
the works, quasi-experiments, actions in the social and public space, and 
performances of the artists invited, will present this existing or supposed 
intimacy with science, highlighting for the audience a desired state of 
cohesion between the disciplines. Naturally, we must approach this 
characteristic displacement occurring in the course of the field study, 
meaning the leaving behind of its own, safe environment by both arts and 
sciences and the act of finding each other, with ;restrained seriousness; in 
the public places of Debrecen, to which our best guideline could be borrowed 
from Jean Jacques Lebel: 

"Art can be very much playful and entertaining. Still we can respect it."
