Filmpremiere "Unter dem Schutz des Schwarzen Drachen"


On the  5th of June, Premiere at 21:00 in Lux-Kino, Halle (Saale)
"Unter dem Schutz des Schwarzen Drachen"
On the road with the Kala Shejtan Travelling Circus
Directed by: Toralf Friesecke


The Halle based Kala Shejtan circus has revived the 100-year old popular 
tradition of the travelling stage.
This film records a lighthearted musical and poetic journey
in their company. With alternating documentary and fictional
sequences, this 60 minute film attempts to capture the voices
and the atmosphere surrounding the lives of its members.
Poems by Christine Hoba, Udo Grashoff und Catrina Steffen
lend a lyrical touch to the magic of the circus.

2) Call for proposals - Art Grant


The Werkleitz Gesellschaft awards one Art Grant per year. It is intended
for the research and development of an artwork focusing on current and
important trends within the city of Halle. It is open to all artists
regardless of age, place of residence and nationality. From the
applications the Arts Board of the Werkleitz Gesellschaft selects one
artist who then has the opportunity to work in Halle for one month. The
scholarship includes a bursary of 1,000 EUR, contribution to travel
expenses up to 250 EUR and free accomodation for one month.
The resulting work may be presented at events organised by the Werkleitz 
Gesellschaft.

Apart from the project proposal, the application for an Art Grant should
include work samples (photographs, catalogue, VHS-cassette, CD-Rom and
the like) and a CV.
Deadline for submitting an application is June 30th,2005.

Please include a stamped addressed envelop, if you would like us to
return your materials. Werkleitz Gesellschaft cannot accept any 
responsibility forwork lost or damaged.
