Students are free to pursue work in any media art-related genre and to create
their own course of study, working independently and with the support of self-
chosen faculty and artist mentors.

Three intensive residencies permit students to continue with their
professional
life while participating in the program. Students work on independent art and
research projects off-site between residencies.

Genres include: Animation, Architecture, Cyber Art, Experimental Art, Film/
Video, Graphic Design, Installation Art, Interactive Art, Interdisciplinary
Art,
Performance Art, Photography, and Sound/Music.

SUMMER RESIDENCY PROGRAM:
The MFA program Residency consists of three 5 day sessions. Two intensive
five day workshops, critiques and an evening series of lectures and artist
talks
take place in sessions one and two. In the third session students
participate in
seminars, project planning meetings, faculty selection as well as the
continuing evening series.

Students are free to travel on the weekends. Krems is at the center of
Europe -
Prague, Munich, Venice and Budapest are only a couple of hours away.
Arrangements will also be made with local and Viennese arts institutions.

A list and description of this summer's workshops will appear in the February
Transart Instititute January Newsletter, the evening artist talk and lecture
series will appear in the March issue and a detailed program will be available
in April.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:
Fresh input and access to new ideas and resources is vital for new media
artists to stay inspired, excited and informed and to see themselves and their
work in a wider context. The Transart Institute offers artists and
designers an
opportunity to get this kind of creative surge through it's summer workshops
and guest lecture series. A list and description of this summer's workshops
will appear in the February Transart Institute Newsletter. The evening artist
talk and lecture series will appear in the March Transart Institute Newsletter.
