Kérjük, járuljon hozzá a projekthez egy vagy több, az Ön országában használatos bankjegy elküldésével. A bankjegy értéke legyen minimum 10 euro vagy ennek megfelelő összeg a hivatalos árfolyamok alapján. Magyarországon a minimum érték 2000 forint.

Valamennyi hozzájáruló nevét és az elküldött bankjegyek számát, értékét regisztráljuk.

Tanulmányozunk és előkészítünk minden lehetséges fizikai, kémiai vagy biológiai folyamatot, melyek segítségével a bankjegy alapanyagául szolgáló papír visszafordíthatatlanul megváltoztatható.

Az október 18-a és 23-a közötti héten a művészek egy akciósorozatot szerveznek a Trafó Galéria kiállító helyiségében, melynek során mindezek a módszerek kipróbálásra kerülnek. 

A folyamatok során keletkezett maradványok a kiállítás ideje alatt megtekinthetők.

A kiállítás végetértével a bankjegyek maradványait a művészek által aláírt tanúsítvánnyal együtt visszaküldjük feladóiknak.

METHODS FOR AN IRREVERSIBLE ALTERATION OF MONEY (provisional title)

A project for Trafo Gallery, Budapest, by Cesare Pietroiusti and Paul Griffiths, curated by Hajnalka Somogyi with a contribution by Pierluigi Sacco



You are asked to contribute to this project by sending one or more bank-notes (paper money) in use in your country. Minimum value for each note must be 10 euros or its equivalent according to the official exchange rate.

We will make a catalogue of all the senders' names with the number and monetary value of the bank-notes sent.

We will study and prepare all possible ways to irreversibly alter the paper material out of which the bank-notes are made through physical, chemical, or biological processes.

During the week between October 18th and October 23st, the artists will organise in the exhibition space of Trafo Gallery in Budapest a series of actions through which all these ways of destroying paper money are enacted.

The residue of these processes will be exhibited during the show.

At the end of the exhibition, the residue of the bank-notes will be returned to the senders together with a certificate signed by the artists.
