Bucharest in pictures - an invitation

The National Museum of Contemporary Art - Kalinderu Media Lab, Bucharest
(www.mnac.org) is presenting on December 12 the exhibition Emotional
Architecture by Calin Dan. The first with this theme in a series of events
created by the artist in relation with the urban situation of Bucharest,
Emotional Architecture will attempt to shed a light on the personality of
this "small metropolis with large contrasts".

In order to better capture the complexity of the phenomenon Bucharest,
Emotional Architecture is designed as a meeting point for various
competences that entered in a dialogue with the city. One of the
highlights of the project will be a data base of photographic images
generated by those who travel(led) and/or inhabit(ed) the city at a
certain point in time, and felt the urge to use their camera in order to
capture this encounter.

The data base will be organized according to two criteria:

1. key words - provided by the authors for every image they send
(preferably one per image); the key words should synthesise the experience
recalled by the photograph.

And

2. the names of the authors, clearly credited next to every image.

The data base will be available for browsing in the lounge section of the
exhibition, and on-line at www.mnac.ro.

The National Museum of Contemporary Art - Kalinderu Media Lab, Bucharest
and Calin Dan are warmly inviting all interested parties to send images
(.jpeg or .tiff, maximum size 600 x 800 pixels and 72 dpi resolution) to

calin at xs4all.nl, with a cc: to raluca at mnac.ro

Deadline for submission - 15 November

The EMOTIONAL ARCHITECTURE work environment is put into practice with the
help of (until now): Mondriaan Foundation - Amsterdam, Pro Helvetia -
Romania, International Centre for Contemporary Art - Bucharest, the Royal
Embassy of the Netherlands in Romania, the European Cultural Foundation -
Amsterdam, and various individuals.
