Interfacing Realities is a Culture 2000 project initiated by V2_ and
realised in collaboration with EncArt. EncArt (European Network for Cyber
Arts) is a longterm collaboration between the ZKM in Karlsruhe, Ars
Electronica in Linz, C3 in Budapest and V2_ in Rotterdam that started in 1997.

Interfacing Realities covers a series of four masterclasses that focus on
new concepts for information management in general, and the usage and
creation of databases and archives in contemporary art practices in
particular.

Each master class will take - five days and will have its own 'master',
location and focus on the theme:

22-26 Nov. 2002 - Lev Manovich (RUS/US) - at C3, Budapest (HU), theme: image

27 Nov. - 1 Dec. 2002 - Joel Ryan (NL) - at ZKM, Karlsruhe (D), theme: music
3 - 7 Feb. 2003 - Rafael Lozano Hemmer (MEX/CAN) - at AEC, Linz (A), theme:
interaction design
3 - 7 March 2003 - Sher Doruff (NL) - bij V2_ during DEAF03, theme:
interdisciplinarity

For each master class a maximum of ten participants can subscribe. In
principle one can apply for all master classes. The costs for lodging and
traveling will be payed by the participants itself.
Participants' fee: 200 euros (100 euro for students).
The level of the master classes is attuned to professional artists, people
from business organizations and postgraduates.

The final date for sending applications: November 11th, 2002
