HUNDREDS OF APPLICATIONS FROM AROUND THE WORLD
APPLICATION DEADLINE IS DEC. 6

Now is the time to apply to the BERLINALE TALENT CAMPUS, the
new platform for young filmmakers at the Berlin
International Film Festival. Young filmmakers, producers,
writers, cinematographers and actors can apply if they have
already worked on a film and are fluent in the English
language. The language of our conference is English. Part of
the application is a one-minute film which will be shown
during the event.

Apply online at http://www.berlinale-talentcampus.de. As
soon as the application is complete you will receive an
e-mail with your application data which you must print out
and sign. Please send it to us with a passport sized photo
and your one-minute-film to the following address:

LIA VAN LEER, WIM WENDERS and KEN ADAM HOST BERLINALE TALENT
CAMPUS

The renowned film director Wim Wenders ("Wings of Desire",
"The Million Dollar Hotel") and the production designer Ken
Adam ("James Bond =F1 Goldfinger", "The Madness of King
George") will be among the hosts of the BERLINALE TALENT
CAMPUS. Together with Lia van Leer, founder and director of
the Jerusalem Cinematheque and Israel Film Archives, Wenders
and Adam will preside over a five-day programme covering the
essential aspects of filmmaking. During the Campus, they
will be joined by other professionals, such as the film
critic Peter Cowie (Variety, The Apocalypse Now Book) and
the author Alessandro Baricco ("Silk").

The chance of meeting not only various international
colleagues, but also established filmmakers has already
attracted hundreds of applicants from over 50 countries.
Among them are young producers from Canada as well as film
students from the US, Australia and Asia, directors from
Argentina and Israel and scriptwriters from Syria, Iceland,
Nigeria and of course from Germany.

A first glimpse at the applicants' interests offers a
good example of the programme=EDs diversity. Topics range
from the influence of digital technology and new ways to
tell a story to different models of teamwork. The
applicants=ED different lifestyles which have shaped their
experiences in the film business will also lead to
stimulating discussions.

 From February 10 to 14, 2003, the BERLINALE TALENT CAMPUS
will offer case studies, lectures and workshops on various
filmmaking issues such as script-writing and film marketing
as well as ethical issues and sources of inspiration.

The BERLINALE TALENT CAMPUS is organised in co-operation
with the Filmboard Berlin Brandenburg and the U.K. Film
Council and will take place in Berlin=EDs House of World
Cultures.

The BERLINALE TALENT CAMPUS Meeting Point in the Campus
Lounge will be open to all registered guests of the Film
Festival. In the afternoon certain screenings will be open
to the public. Several filmmakers will be present and
available for discussions afterwards. Tickets for these
events will be available through the Berlinale booking
system.
