SculptureCenter is pleased to announce a new special project series titled In Practice. This program supports artists in creating work for exhibition at SculptureCenter and continues in the experimental vein of the highly successful exhibition "Interval", presented in the pre-renovated space in the Fall of 2001. Projects may potentially utilize any public area of the building including the outdoor area, the basement, the building exterior, the reception area, stairways as well as exhibition space. SculptureCenter invites artists to submit proposals for projects and installations to be presented during its 2002-2003 exhibition season. Because the building is still under construction, no site visits are available. However, artists are encouraged to visit SculptureCenter's website after July 1st 2001 for images and floorplans.

Artists selected for the In Practice program will receive a $250 honoraria and up to $1000 in production support. Work in all media will be considered and artists are welcome to experiment with the parameters of traditional display and exhibition formats. There are no geographic eligibility requirements, but please be aware that SculptureCenter cannot provide housing or accommodations. Proposals will be reviewed by a panel of artists. To be considered, please send the following to SculptureCenter at 11-17 43rd
Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101:

Proposal for installation or work to be created. In your proposal, please describe how the images you are submitting relate to the proposed project (i.e. related prior work, work in progress, etc.)
Images: You may include up to 20 images (slides, photocopies, etc.) and/or video or audio tapes. If submitting video, please consolidate onto no more than two cassettes. Work samples may be of the work proposed or of prior work that relates to the proposal.
A brief artist statement
Slide script providing title, date, media, dimensions, and any relevant descriptive
information
Resume including name, address, phone number, email address
Preliminary project budget: This may be preliminary but should be realistic.
SASE: Material will not be returned unless a self-addressed stamped envelope is provided.
