18th International Shortfilm Festival Berlin
5. - 10. November 2002

This year the international shortfilm festival 'interfilm' takes place for =
the 18th time, a veritable meeting place for the International Shortfilm an=
d video scenes.
More than 300 shortfilms and videos will be shown during the six days of th=
e festival and an estimated 100 films will be nominated for the internation=
al competition. An international jury will award five prizes. The 'interfil=
m Short Awards' will be presented in the following categories:

- 3 x for best film
- 1 x best animation
- 1 x best camera

A  further 11 prizes will be awarded in the following competitions:

- ultra shorts (90 sec. maximum length)
- international Children=B4s films
- international films against violence and intolerance
- films from the Berlin-Brandenburg Region ('Local Heroes')
- eject 'the long night of  the unexpected' (the 'eject' audience prize)

Apart from the competitions, the festival also includes historical short fi=
lm programmes, special focus on France and Brasilia, video programmes, musi=
c clips, commercials, documentary films and computer animation, as well as =
the chance to catch up on highlights from previous interfilm festivals. The=
re will be thematically related seminars, parties and of course the 'eject-=
night' when the audience is the jury on 'the long night of the unexpected'.=
 All film entries can be viewed by accredited guests at the film market. Th=
e interfilm festival will also host the National Short Film Prize Ceremony.

18. Internationales Kurzfilmfestival Berlin
5. - 10. November 2002

Zum 18. Mal findet das Internationale Kurzfilmfestival interfilm, ein Treff=
punkt der internationalen Kurzfilm- und Videoszene in Berlin, statt.
W=E4hrend der sechs Festivaltage werden =FCber 300 Kurzfilme und Videos gez=
eigt. Sch=E4tzungsweise 100 werden f=FCr den internationalen Wettbwerb nomi=
niert. Eine internationale Jury verleiht f=FCnf Preise. Die "interfilm Shor=
t Awards" werden in folgenden Kategorien vergeben:

- 3 x bester Film
- 1 x beste Animation
- 1 x beste Kamera

Weiterhin werden 11 Preise in folgenden Wettbewerben vergeben:

- Ultra Shorts (bis zu 90 sek. L=E4nge)
- internationale Kinderfilme
- internationale Kurzfilme gegen Gewalt und Intoleranz
- Filme aus der Region Berlin-Brandenburg ("Local Heroes")
- eject - die lange Nacht des  abwegigen Films (der eject Publikumspreis)

Neben den Wettbewerben bieten die Rahmenprogramme historische Kurzfilme, L=
=E4nder-Specials aus Frankreich und Brasilien, Spezialprogramme und themati=
sche Seminare. Au=DFerdem werden Videosonderprogramme, Musikclips, Werbefil=
me, Dokumentarfilme und Computeranimationen vorgestellt und interfilm-Highl=
ights des letzten Festivals gezeigt. Die eject-Nacht - die "lange Nacht des=
 abwegigen Films" und Filmparties werden gefeiert. Alle eingereichten Filme=
 sind auf dem Filmmarkt dem Fachpublikum zug=E4nglich. Im Rahmen des Festiv=
als wird au=DFerdem der Deutsche Kurzfilmpreis verliehen.

Einsendeschlu=DF ist verl=E4ngert bis zum 22. Juli 2002.
