Subject: It Only Takes A Minute-Gone In 60 Seconds
The UK's two leading videomaking magazines, Camcorder User and What
Camcorder, have united with Canon, a world leader in technical innovation,
to launch an extraordinary videomaking competition, Gone in 60 Seconds.
The general idea... well it's a simple one. Produce a video and make your
point in 60 seconds, or less. Your video can be in any genre, music video,
advert, drama, documentary or comedy, all we ask is that you bear in mind
the theme of this year's competition - Identity
Just to spice up the proceedings both magazines will be featuring the best
of each month's entries on their respective websites: www.camuser.co.uk and
www.whatcamcorder.net, so you can keep tabs on what your competitors are up
to. There'll also be a prize each month for the best video on the sites. It
doesn't end there either! After all the entries have been viewed and rated,
and the winners selected, a closing gala will be held at a prestigious venue
in London, at which the top entries will be screened and the awards
presented.
The competition, which is open to everyone, boasts prizes in excess of
UKP4,000. The overall winner of Gone in 60 Seconds will win one of Canon's
superb DM-XL1S digital camcorders, itself worth UKP2,500, and used by
videomakers, film and TV production crews around the globe. The two
runners-up will receive a Canon MVX1i (2nd place) and a Canon MV550i (3rd
place).
