Media Archeology -- the first public presentation of C3=92s new web project
In addition to supporting the production and presentation of contemporary=20
media art works, C3 is engaged in exploring the prehistory and the=20
archeology of media. The web site is related to the collection, The History=
=20
of Media and the Sources of Hungarian Media Art, a research made by the=20
Intermedia Department of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, supported by=20
the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund.

Jan Speckenbach - Birk Weiberg: DCX. Your World in my Tears
DCX is an online video installation, projected onto screens, rendering an=20
everyday story in three parts. The footage is re-edited daily and the story=
=20
is always told in a different way. The viewer watches a movie that only=20
exists here and now and will be lost the next day. Adding, taking away and=
=20
re-editing the scenes modify the narration. The installation tries to=20
bridge between cinematic and multimedia approaches. By changing the=20
narrative context, the single shots acquire a new connotation. DCX regards=
=20
itself as an open work the final form of which is constant metamorphosis.
The project has been realized in cooperation with ZKM (Karlsruhe), K & S=20
Gallery (Berlin) and C3 (Budapest).
