May 19, 2021 - UNFOLD - A Festival

A short festival, 'UNFOLD: Nan Hoover' will happen
on Wednesday, May 19. Artists, experts, writers, programmers will shed
their light on the ¦uvre of Nan. The festival is the third edition
of LIMA's re-interpretation programme and gives many possible answers
to the question of what the work is, or can be, years after its
creation. What does it take to keep a media artwork in constant flux,
continuously appropriated by artists and makers of all sorts?
Following Nan's conception of art, UNFOLD is focussing on a
cross-fertilization between dance, performance and visual arts. More
than ten contemporary artists will perform and present Nan's works
in a new way, including pieces by Judith de Joode, Vera Sofia Mota,
Davor Sanvincenti, Sandra Sterle. At the same time the students
from Willem van Weelden, artist, researcher and tutor at the
Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, will present their reinterpretations
and Fransien van der Putt will interview them. And works of Nan
Hoover and interviews are screened.

We will host the event online and offer visitors a
different experience that is in essence the same: rediscovering,
seeing and experiencing Nan Hoover's groundbreaking work.
