China</title></head><body>
<div><b>Dear friends of dslcollection,</b><br>
</div>
<div>For issue 9 of dslmagazine, we are pleased to introduce Yang Jing
as our guest author to discuss the "art" of gaming in Chinese
contemporary society.<br>
</div>
<div>Dslcollection is built on the philosophy that "art is a mirror
of society". Video games are everywhere these days; and in recent
years, China has become the largest video gaming market in the
world.<br>
</div>
<div>From the very beginning, dslcollection has always tried to be
omnipresent by opening new doors to innovative art experiences,
especially via surfing the digital wave. Our goal is to reach all
types of the public by being personal. We understand that the young
generation is less interested in contemporary art so we've chosen to
address them via their chosen medium - video games.<br>
</div>
<div>In this issue, Yang Jing takes us on a journey into the world of
video game art , exploring the inter-relationships between art, gaming
and life in contemporary Chinese society.<br>
