What could we learn from art workers’ campaigns and actions for a more just contemporary art field in post-Orbán Hungary?
How to apply and implement practices of advocacy and union organising within an often opaque, unregulated and fragmented field?
Can we imagine an EU-wide framework that legislates the status, remuneration, and taxation of cultural workers–ensuring a sustainable and just set of conditions for our shared scene?
For more efficient and sustainable advocacy platforms, according to Fabiola Fiocco, the Italian curator and researcher, we need not a handful of elite progressive institutions and atomised star artists, but rather an infrastructure that rests on networked institutions organising its field and communities via the notions of interdependence and the commons.
