Subject: Beyond Imposed Identities
Beyond Imposed Identities - Understanding Current Cultural Dynamics and Resistance in Eastern Europe is a series of five webinars conducted by a network of cultural organisations in Eastern Europe.
They will explore different aspects of cultural dynamics, cultural resistance and (de)colonialty in Eastern Europe through expert presentations and shared dialogue between artists, academics and cultural practitioners.
The webinars will take place every other Tuesday from the 1st of October until the 26th of November at 18:00 Central European Time.
1/10 - War Documentation and Anti-Colonial Resistance in Contemporary Ukrainian Art by Svitlana BIedarieva (UA)
15/10 - Hybridity, Transculturality and Belongings in the Eastern European Borderlands by Ihar Babkov (BY)
29/10 - Linguistic Colonialism in the Russian Colonial Periphery: the Armenian Case by Dr Rafik Santrosyan (AR)
12/11 - Art and culture as a resistance by Valeria Barbas & Tatiana Fiodorova (MD)
26/11 - Case study: “The River Wailed Like a Wounded Beast” by Mariia Yarchuk (UA)
The webinars will be conducted on Zoom. In case you have safety concerns it will be possible to participate using a pseudonym and without turning on your camera.
