Working in an artist duo (or a group) one learns that the alchemists' motto
"solve et coagula" means that one must accept personal dissolution, that
one must vary her own temperature and pressure and test her own sanity in
the crucible of change. In the presentation of July 8 Anetta Mona Chis¸a
will focus mostly on their projects with projects with Lucia Tkáãová
ruminating on the idea of collaboration, mirroring into each other,
transcending the self, re-inventing the creative subject.

The workshop on the 9th of July will be based on a set of exercises which
will demonstrate how working in collaboration can change the way of
reasoning and the grammar we use. We will try out a series of linguistic
techniques, intersubjective and inter-corporeal rehearsals, choreography of
bonding through bondage while performing language minus certainty, social
mimicry, 1+1=1.

Anetta Mona Chis¸a works together with Lucia Tkáãová as an artist duo since
2000. At the heart of their collaboration lies their quest to find a means
of reconciling the political with the aesthetic validity of art. Trusting
in the power of the invisible, the unspeakable and the unknown, they see
art as a process which should have transformative effect (on both
themselves and the viewer) with re-forming consequences on the world.
Forming and performing a female duo is a way to outdare the scripts
inflicted on women by the society as well as a way to dismantle the
self-imposed (internalized) mechanisms of male domination that women carry
out.


Anetta Mona Chis¸a and Lucia Tkáãová are participating artists of the
exhibition Our Heart is a Foreign Country - Friendship as an Alternative in
a Normal world  by tranzit.hu.
