Organizing Occupy Wall Street: Interview with Marisa Holmes

Marisa Holmes is an organizer and educator from Brooklyn, New York. 
Her book _Organizing Occupy Wall Street_ (Palgrave, 2023) is part 
personal testimony, memoir and critical analysis of this epic social 
movement and its immediate aftermath.
She also made a documentary with the OWS Media Working Group called 
_All Day All Week - An Occupy Wall Street Story_

While one of the well-known organizers David Graeber published his 
monumental _Debt, the First 5000 Years_ around the same time as the 
protests,  Occupy Wall Street should not be reduced to a moralistic 
critique of global finance, symbolized by 'Wall Street'. Graeber's 
Occupy account is called _The Democracy Project_ for a reason. What 
OWS today stood for were values such as consensus, equality and broad 
participation-aspects the Western democracy machines lack.
