Bergen Kunsthall, one of Scandinavia's most
prominent contemporary art institutions, is
seeking to appoint a new Director, to lead the
organisation as it continues to develop its
reputation locally, nationally and
internationally.

Attracting some 65,000 visitors a year, Bergen
Kunsthall has a national and international
reputation for its continually changing series of
exhibitions, its strong education programme, its
publications and the lively contemporary art
programme which is curated at Landmark, the
gallery's cafe, bar, concert venue and project
space. Embedded in the local cultural scene,
Bergen Kunsthall has international reach through
its programming, international collaborations and
publications, ensuring its place in the global
conversation on contemporary art and culture.

In the new Director, the Board is looking for a
leader with the ability and international
standing to run this high profile, small
organisation which plays a significant role in
Bergen and Norway within the broader contemporary
art scene. They will be responsible for
determining the artistic direction of the
organisation as the institution moves into the
next stage of its development, ensuring its
reputation on the national and international
stage while taking care of its financial
security. They will be good people and resource
managers, will be known for their innovative
artistic programming, will be excellent
communicators and stakeholder managers and will
have the ability to work effectively with the
Board to build on the organisation's remarkable
history.
