	The 39th edition of Krakow Theatrical 
Reminiscences expands the field of the theatre to 
include forms such as a court trial, a mass, a 
dinner, a staged lecture, and an exhibition. The 
programmeof the festival is divided into two 
major themes. In the first we focus on the 
politics of performance and ask how and why 
visual artists make theatre, often trying to 
deconstruct it by whatever means possible. The 
other theme refers to the political crisis in 
Ukraine and Russia and the artists' response to 
the growing antagonisms and nationalisms. 
Projects, debates, and activity pose the question 
whether art can work as a laboratory of critical 
and political thought, a factory of possible and 
impossiblescenarios that rework reality as we 
know it.

	 Performance Now showcases a selection of 
the most interesting performances by contemporary 
artists combining theatre, visual arts, and civic 
activism. It focuses on how visual artists create 
performance, often attempting to deconstruct, 
negate or subvert traditional narrative theater. 
Bringing together some of the most significant 
practitioners today, Performance Now surveys 
critical and experimental currents in performance 
internationally featuring works by exceptional 
artists.
