Megtekinthető: május 10-ig a galéria nyitva tartási idejében keddtől péntekig 9 és 14, szombaton 10 és 13 óra között



Hol kezdődik és hol ér véget a privát tér? Kinek a privát tere? A sajátom vagy a fotón ábrázolt személyé? Ki hatol be hová? 

Szent-Iványi Réka fotói nem kívánnak provokálni, és mégis azt teszik, nem kívánnak ítélkezni, és mégis megteszik. Provokálnak és ítélkeznek a néző felett, az „intim” és a „privát” szót kiabálva. Valójában „csendes” dokumentumok, a Torgyán becenevű férfi életének lenyomatai, amelyeket Szent-Iványi naturalista módon szelíden az arcunkba vág. A médium a negatív, a tárgy Torgyán mindennapjai. Az édesanyjával, kutyával és macskával egy másfél szobás panelban élő férfi privát terébe behatolva, életének megannyi abszurditásával szembesülve mit teszünk? A fotók egy olyan dimenziót tárnak elénk, ahol nem tudjuk, nem tudhatjuk mennyi ebből maga az ember, mennyi a színjáték, de ezek az egymásra épülő valóság-rétegek adják ki azt a bonyolult szövetet, amit életként, jelen esetben Torgyán privát életeként definiálunk. Az otthon négy fala között egymagunkban és önmagunkban zajló események egy embert érintenek csak: magunkat. Az ilyen eseményekbe történő betekintés egy intim aktus, amely a kitárulkozó személy engedélyéhez kötött. Engedélyt adunk és engedélyt kapunk, intim terek ütközését idézve ezzel elő. Ki hatol be hová? 

A sorozat képei olyanok, mint egy erős gyomros, felöklelnek, megragadnak, megölelnek, magadra hagynak. Ezek a képek bemásznak a privát teredbe és számonkérnek. 

Ki mersz tárulkozni? Kénytelen leszel.
De nincs ebben semmi. 



A kiállítás megtekintését 18 éven aluliaknak nem ajánljuk.
 
A kiállítás a Fiatalok Fotóművészeti Stúdiójának Átlátás 2 című kiállítás- és programsorozatán belül valósul meg.

Where does the private space begin and where does it end? Whose private space is it? Mine or the captured person’s? Who is entering where? 

The photographs of Réka Szent-Iványi do not wish to provoke, and yet they do. They do not wish to judge, and still they do. They provoke and judge the viewer, shouting out the words „intimate” and „private”. In fact they are „quiet” documents, the imprints of a man's life nicknamed Torgyán, thrown very gently in a naturalistic manner to our faces by Szent-Iványi. The medium is the negative, the subject is the everyday life of Torgyán. How do we react when entering the private life of a man, who shares a one-bedroom panel apartment with his mother, a dog and a cat, and when we face all the absurdities of his life? The photographs show us a dimension, where we do not know, cannot know, which part is true and which is just for the show, but these correlating reality-layers are the ones creating that complex texture we define as life, in this case as the private life of Torgyán. Actions occurring among the four walls of our home by ourselves within our private zone only concern one: us, alone. Gaining insight into such deeds is an intimate act, which is bound to the permission of the revealing one. We give and gain permission, triggering the collision of private spaces. Who is entering where? 

This series hits like a punch in the stomach, it pushes you, grabs you, embraces you and leaves you alone. These pictures crawl inside your private space, demanding answers. 


Do you dare to expose yourself? You can't help but to do so. 
But there's nothing wrong with that.
