Privatizimi i institucioneve dhe infrastrukturës shpesh nuk përmban edhe
ndryshimet e dukshme në hapësirën e ndërtuar që është subjekt i
privatizimit. Shumë shpesh, transformimi i pronës nuk pëfshinë edhe
shfaqjen e guzimshme të mbishkrmeve të korporatave që e kanë privatizuar
pronën. Jo çdo herë gjithçka është shumë e qartë për atë kush është tani në
krye, sidomos pas ngritjes së vazhdueshme të tendencavë të përfshirjes së
fondeve të dyshimta të konglomerateve multi-nacionale dhe skemave të
invstimeve private me hipotekim. Si i tillë, prizatizimi jo
domosdoshmërisht rexhistrohet në domenin e të dukshmës. Por prap se prap,
kur korporatat private përvetësojnë hapësirat, dikur publike, përvoja e
përditshme ndikohet; hapësira ridistribuohet, operimi në to ndryshon,
rrugët ndrrojne kahje, qasja rrefozohet.

Liquidation hulumton se si hapësira e privatizuar, jo gjithnjë e dukshme,
mund të behet e kuptueshme nëpërmes praktikave artistike, sociale dhe
politike. Me qëlllim të ekzaminimit se si natyra virtuale dhe e papare e
kapitalit mund të vetë-huazohet në figurativitetin artistik, veprat pjesë
të ekspozitës do të rikonfigurojnë virtualen në raport me konkreten dhe
vendosin përballë të padukshmen me të kuptueshmën. Në të bërit të kësaj,
Liquidation ngritë ceshtjen e rëndësisë së praktikave artistike në
shoqërinë bashkëkohore.

Liquidation është i konceptuar nga Sarah Lookofksy për Stacion - Qendra për
Art Bashkëkohor Prishtinë, dhe është realizuar në bashkëpunim me Stacion -
Qendra për Art Bashkëkohor Prishtinë dhe me pjesëmarrjen e Miroslav
Kraljevic Gallery (G-MK), Zagreb. Instituti për Hulumtime Zhvillimore
Riinvest, EIPCP – European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies dhe
Miroslav Kraljevic Gallery (G-MK) janë partnerë të Stacion – Qendra për Art
Bashkëkohor Prishtinë në implementimin e projektit.

The privatization of institutions and infrastructure does not always entail
noticeable changes to the built environment. Frequently, private takeover
does not result in bold displays of corporate logos. Given the rise of
shadow financing by multinational conglomerates and private equity
investment schemes, it is indeed typically unclear who is in charge. As
such, privatization is not necessarily registered within the domain of the
visible. Yet, when private corporations appropriate previously socially and
publicly owned institutions and spaces, everyday experience is affected:
resources are redistributed, operations are changed, passage is rerouted,
access is denied.

Liquidation interrogates how privatization, although not always visible,
can nevertheless be made intelligible through artistic, social and
political practices. Artworks in the exhibition will address shifts in the
everyday as a result of privatization, whether drastically experienced or
barely registered. By taking as its starting point the “forms” of
contemporary capitalism, the exhibition will propose an alternate approach
to signification and representation. With the aim of examining how the
virtual and unseen nature of capital can lend itself to artistic
figuration, works in the exhibition illustrate examples of countering the
invisible with the intelligible. In so doing, Liquidation presses the
question of the contemporary social relevance of artistic practice.

for Contemporary Art Prishtina, realized in collaboration with Stacion –
Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina, with contributions by Miroslav
Kraljevic Gallery (G-MK), Zagreb. The Institute for Development Research –
Riinvest, EIPCP – European Institute for Progressive Cultural Policies and
Miroslav Kraljevic Gallery (G-MK) are collaborating partners of Stacion –
Center for Contemporary Art Prishtina in implementing the project.
