Liliana Moro
Sculpture, Installation
3 - 22 August, 3 weeks
Hohensalzburg Fortress
Liliana Moro, currently one of the leading Italian artists, focuses on the relationship between interior and exterior, on being 'in the world'. Using sound, words, videos, sculptures, objects and performances, she stages realities at once blatant and poetic.
Liliana Moro analyses architectural, natural and urban spatial structures, considering their public and private frames of reference. Subtle interventions, symbolic everyday objects and space-related sculptures reflect her conception of inward and outward, real and imaginary, private and public transfer-lines. Liliana Moro has participated in many international exhibitions, including documenta IX in Kassel (1992) and the 1994 Venice Biennale.
Asta Groting
Sculpture/Installation
20 July - 8 August, 3 weeks
Alte Saline Hallein
Asta Groting works in various media, including sculpture, video and performance, focusing on social and psychological topics. She shows things not normally visible - underground mining conveyor belts, auditory canals, the digestive system, the inner voice of ventriloquists, or the space between a pair of lovers. The human body, with its internal functions and its external relationships, plays an important role in Asta Groting's works. She visualises invisible processes and functions as sculptural objects. One of the leading German sculptors, she has participated in many international exhibitions, including the 8th Sydney Biennial and the 1990 Venice Biennale.
Enrolement and tuition fees total ? 810.- (reduced fee of ? 585.- for students at Academies of Art and Media).
