Dear All,

the Center for Arts and Culture cordially invites you to the
forthcoming SUB-Cult film screening attached to the APPROACHES TO
COUNTER-CULTURAL MOVEMENTS IN EAST-CENTRAL EUROPE, 1960-1990 Seminar:

JÉGRKÉMBALETT (ICE CREAM BALLET)
(Hungarian musical/feature film, 1984,74’)

Directed by: András Wahorn

February 11, Wednesday, 7.30 pm, Auditorium (CEU, Nádor u. 9.)

The screening will be preceded by an introduction of András Wahorn.

An accomplished painter, András Wahorn was also the leader of the
legendary punk band "A. E. Bizottság" (Α. Einstein Committee). The band
was branded as “underground,” despite the bizarre fact that their
only two records were actually funded by the state. As Wahorn revealed
in an interview, “the communists did not understand this new music but
you could get away with it under the disguise of art.” The Committee
is the subject of several short film experiments that made up Ice Cream
Ballet.

Everyone is welcome! Entrance is free.

Best regards,
Lilla Földy
