6-12 August 2007

online subscription at http://tosmi.org

deadline: 30 June

organized by InterSpace Association, Sofia

The project aims at making series of trainings on Free and Open
Source Software <http://www.fsf.org/licensing/essays/free-sw.html>
multimedia tools that are not so well known, but can be used
efficiently by professionals from the audiovisual production sector.
Although in the last few years there have been many efforts and
success stories about making open source software more popular for
the end-users, professionals in certain areas still doubt the
availability of good-quality, free of charge products to face their
specific needs. This project is intended to reverse this tendency.

The target group of the project are young professionals working in
the fields of 3D CGI, post-production, video editing, animation,
advertising and special effects. Participation of professionals from
the project's partner countries, as well as women professionals is
particularly encouraged.

The trainings cover:

    * *Blender for professionals*. Blender is the open source software
      for 3D modeling, animation, rendering, post-production,
      interactive creation and playback;
    * *Cinelerra for professionals*. Cinelerra is a non-linear
      video/aidio editor.
    * Usage of free and open source software for recording and editing
      sound under GNU/Linux and other operating systems;
    * Usage of version-control and groupware tools for optimization of
      the production process;
    * Hardware and software optimization and rendering farm building
      workshop.
