Milyen modon jelenhet meg a vallas az emberek mindennapjaiban, akar 
intezmenyes, akar szemelyes formaban? A kiallitas a legtagabban 
ertelmezett vallas es olyan, szorosan hozza tartozo – pszichologiainak 
is nevezheto – fogalmak kulonbozo aspektusaival foglalkozik, mint 
peldaul a hit, remeny, gyonas vagy aldozas. Milyen emberi, lelki 
szuksegleteket elegit ki a vallas, es hogyan elegithetoek ki ezek a 
szuksegletek a vallas keretein kivul? Mi tortenik akkor, ha ezek a 
keretek lathatatlanok, s igy sajat pozicionkat sem tudjuk megnyugtatoan 
tisztazni? A vallas kulturankent radikalisan eltero megjelenesi formaira 
es nagyon hasonlo pszichologiai aspektusaira reflektalnak a kiallitas 
resztvevoi, akik a gorog-keleti vallasu Szerbiabol, az erosen katolikus 
Perubol, valamint a foleg szunnita-muzulman Kazahsztanbol erkeznek. Az 
alkotasokat az erzekeles es eszleles esetlegessegeinek, 
diszharmoniajanak kerdese is osszekoti: azokat a kulturalis szokasokat 
es gyakorlatokat kutatjak, melyek bejaratott ertelmezesi eljarasok 
segitsegevel igyekeznek felulirni – leegyszerusiteni es kezelhetove 
tenni – a vilag eredendo ambivalenciajat.

How is religion present in our everyday life either in an institutional 
or in a personal way?

The exhibition is concerned with religion in its broadest sense and 
other closely related –psychological –areas such as faith, hope, 
confession and receiving sacrament.

The main focus is on the human needs religion satisfies and the way 
these needs can be satisfied outside the framework provided by 
religions. What happens if the boundaries of a religious context are 
invisible and as a consequence we cannot be sure even of our own 
position reassuringly? The artists reflect on the radically different 
forms of representation of religion in different cultures and the 
nevertheless strikingly similar psychological aspects of these forms. 
The artists come from a Greek Orthodox Serbia, a strongly Catholic Peru 
and an overwhelmingly Sunnite Muslim Kazakhstan. The issue of the random 
and disharmonious nature of perception also connects the works, all of 
which study those cultural customs and practices that endeavour to 
overwrite – make simpler and easier to handle – the inherent ambivalence 
of the world by means of tried and tested methods of interpretation.
