Hermann Ildi: NYARALÓK

Hermann Ildi a legfiatalabb hazai fotósgeneráció tagja – s ez munkáin
is felfedezhető: fotóin rendszerint látszólag keresetlen, magától
értetődő látványokat, részleteket láthatunk az éppen rögzített
valóságból. Ugyanakkor éppen ez a letisztult látásmód hoz létre olyan
összhangot a fotózott tárgyak, emberek és közegek között, amelyben a
hétköznapok során nem látható, észrevételen szépségük, furcsaságuk,
saját-létük kerül előtérbe.
A Dorottya Galériában legújabb fotósorozata, a NYARALÓK válogatását mutatjuk be.

„A 60-as, 70-as években a nyaralók egyszerű technológiával, rövid idő
alatt, olcsó, könnyen beszerezhető anyagokból megépíthető, akár
prospektusból kiválasztható típusú épületek voltak. Funkciójuk: a
gyarapodó városi lakosság számára megteremteni a szabadidő tartalmas
eltöltésének lehetőségét az iparosodott települések határain kívül, de
azokhoz közel. Elsősorban a tó-, és folyópartokat építették ki, így
került sor a szentendrei sziget üdülőteleppé alakítására is, amely ma
is különös jelentéssel bír a budapestiek számára.
Sorozatomban szeretném megragadni és tanulmányozni az elmúlt
évtizedekben végbement társadalmi átalakulás jegyeit, melyeket a
(nyaraló-) emberek, s a környezetük változása is magában hordoz.
Szeretném megidézni a múltat a nyaralókban talált tárgyak, ruhák,
fotók, és „szokások" segítségével; dokumentálni az itt felejtett
életérzést, mely napjainkat is más megvilágításba helyezi, és egészen
más létjogosultsága van, mint régen.
A fotósorozat egyrészről szeretne szólni a 60-as, 70-es évek egységes
építészeti stílusáról, illetve az új igények követelte
változtatásokkal tarkított épületekről, a nyaralókról, másrészről a
társadalmi átalakulást megélő emberekről, akik hagyatékként kapták ezt
az életérzést, s akik tavasztól őszig itt töltik minden hétvégéjüket:
a nyaralókról."

HERMANN Ildi – WEEKEND

Ildi Hermann belongs to the youngest generation of Hungarian
photographers – and this is discernible in her works: we generally see
in her photos seemingly spontaneous, natural scenes and details from
the reality at hand that has been recorded. At the same time, it is
precisely this clear vision that gives rise to an accord between the
photographed objects, people and milieux in which the invisible,
unnoticed beauty and strangeness of the everyday – of their own
existence – come to the fore.
The Dorottya Gallery presents Hermann's latest photo series, Weekend.

"In the 1960 and 70s, summer cottages were buildings that could be
constructed with simple technology, in a short time and of cheap,
easily obtainable materials, or even selected as types from a
catalogue. Their function was to create the possibility for the
increasing urban population to spend substantial, valuable free time
beyond the boundaries of industrialised communities, but still close
by. First of all, the shores of lakes and rivers were built up, and
thus developed the resort on the island of Szentendre, which even
today has a special significance for residents of Budapest.
"With my series, I would like to capture and study the characteristics
of the social metamorphosis that has occurred over the last decades,
which are carried in the (holiday-making-)people, and in the
transformations of their environment. I aim to evoke the past with the
aid of objects, clothing, photographs and "customs" found in the
holiday-makers and their bungalows; and to document the attitude
towards life that has been forgotten here, which casts our days in a
different light, and within an entirely different reason for existence
than previously.
"On the one hand, this photo series endeavours to present the uniform
architectural style of the 1960s and 70s, as well as the edifices
diversified through alterations necessitated by new demands – i.e.,
the cottages, and on the other hand, to show people living through
social transformation, and who have acquired this attitude towards
life as their legacy, and who spend every weekend from spring until
autumn here: in their holiday cottages."
