In Transition

NeMe through IMCA (Independent Museum of Contemporary Art) and in 
collaboration with the Lanitis Foundation presents the exhibition "In 
Transition" at the Evagoras and Kathleen Lanitis Foundation from 4 - 15 
October, 2006.

The focus of the exhibition is 'displacement', whether it is caused by 
political, economic, environmental or social reasons. The exhibition 
will present the work of 67 artists from 31 countries including Cyprus, 
most of which has been created specifically for "In Transition". 
Through connecting different sites and different people, the exhibition 
will be searching for a contemporary perception of the realities and 
dilemmas which confront displaced people.

"In Transition" will be accompanied by three talks scheduled for 4 
Ocober 2006, 7.30-8.30pm,  by US artist and international editor of 
Leonardo magazine Sheila Pinkel, (Hmong in Transition) and  Nesrine 
Khodr, Lebanon, (On Space and Opinion).

In Transition

Το NeMe, μέσω του Ανεξάρτητου Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης (IMCA) και σε 
συνεργασία με το Ίδρυμα Λανίτη παρουσιάζει την έκθεση "In Transition" 
στο Ίδρυμα Ευαγόρα και Κάθλην Λανίτη στις 4 - 15 Οκτωβρίου, 2006.

Η κεντρική ιδέα της έκθεσης εστιάζεται στον "εκτοπισμό", είτε τα αίτια 
αυτού είναι πολιτικά, οικονομικά, περιβαλλοντικά ή κοινωνικά.  
Συμμετοχή θα έχουν 67 καλλιτέχνες από 31 χώρες συμπεριλαμβανομένης και 
της Κύπρου. Τα περισσότερα από αυτά τα έργα έχουν δημιουργηθεί ειδικά 
για την έκθεση αυτή. Στόχος της έκθεσης είναι η εξεύρεση μιας σύγχρονης 
αντίληψης για τις αλήθειες και τα διλήμματα των "εκτοπισμένων", 
διαφορετικών περιοχών και διαφορετικών ανθρώπων.


Την  έκθεση "In Transition" θα συνοδεύσουν τρεις διαλέξεις που  θα 
πραγματοποιηθούν στις 4 Οκτωβρίου 2006, 7.30-8.30μμ, από την 
Αμερικανίδα καλλιτέχνη και διεθνή συντάκτρια του περιοδικού Leonardo, 
Sheila Pinkel και την  καλλιτέχνη Nesrine Khodr από το Λίβανο .


Το NeMe  είναι ένας μη κυβερνητικός, πολιτιστικός οργανισμός που 
εδρεύει στη Λεμεσό.
