SOCIALIST MEMORY FILM SCREENING

The Socialist Memory film screening features film and video works by contemporary artists that deal with the memory of the communist past in Eastern Europe. The selected films also demonstrate the variety of approaches within contemporary art to the use of documentary material and techniques. Devised by Maja and Reuben Fowkes www.translocal.org

The SocialEast research forum considers the art and visual culture of Eastern Europe from the end of the Second World War to the fall of the Berlin Wall, through collaborative projects, exhibitions and seminars. The project is organised by MIRIAD Manchester Metropolitan University in collaboration with Pasts Inc. Central European University, the Institute of Art History Zagreb, Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art Budapest, www.artmargins.com and other international partners.
