20 db nagyformátumú kontakt fotó, 12x16cm-es és 12x24cm-es méretekben. 

A sorozat a cseh tájképfotózás gazdag hagyományaira épít. Képvilága
klasszikusokat idéz, mint Josef Sudek vagy Jan Reich. Technikája is
hagyományos eljáráson alapul: a tájképfotók műszaki géppel, fekete fehér
filmre készültek. Tomas Pospech koncepciója viszont kritikus és aktuális
kérdéseket dolgoz fel.. 

Számítógépes játékokban renderelt hegyeket, erdőket és réteket fényképez a
művész, azaz a lefényképezett táj csak virtuálisan létezik. Pospech a
monitort fényképezi. A művész fotósorozatában számtalan olyan kérdés
fogalmaz meg, amely nem csak a médium jelentőségét és mai szerepét kutatja,
hanem korunk és jövőnk létezésének alapproblémáira is reflektál, mint a
hiteles és mesterséges tér-idő reprezentáció, vagy a valós és virtuális
identitások. 


Vár tulajdonosok (2004-2005)


Ez a projekt egy egyedi cseh jelenséggel foglalkozik: kerti, parki, téri
vagy pályaudvari díszként épített, létező vagy kitalált várak és kastélyok
modelljeivel. A terjedelmes fotógyűjtés külön figyelmet szentel az
építmények és a tulajdonosok közti viszonyokra, az  építmények felállítása
mögött meghúzódó szándékokra.

Tomas Pospech 1974-ben született. Művészettörténeti és művészetelméleti
tanulmányait Olomucban végezte, majd a prágai Károly egyetemen (1999),
illetve az opavai egyetem kreatív fotó szakán (1998) doktorált. 1997 óta a
zlini, Tomas Bata Egyetem kreatív fotó szakán tanít, valamint a multimédia
kommunikáció szak elméleti tanszékének vezetője. 
Alkotói munkásságának középpontjában a dokumentarista fotográfia (lásd
sorozatait: Zlini emberek; Szigetek; Rynovice börtön; a Philips gyárról
szóló könyvét), a csendélet, esetenként a happening és a performensz áll.
Művészeti tevékenysége mellett műkritika írással, és a vizuális művészetek
kutatásával foglalkozik.

20 large format contact photographs, in size 12x16cm and 12x24cm.  

The series is based on the long tradition of Czech landscape photography.
Its imagery quotes  classics, like Josef Sudek or Jan Reich. Technique used
still is traditional: technical camera, large format negative. The
photographed scenery only exists virtually. Rendered mountains, forests and
meadows from computer games.
The photographer takes a picture of the monitor. This work implies several
question, beyond the present roll and significance of the medium. It
reflects on basic conflicts of our contemporary and future existence, eg.:
credible and created space-time representation, real and virtual identity,. 


Castle owners (2004 - 2005)


This project deals with a specific Czech phenomenon: The making of garden
models of real as well as imaginary castles and mansions and their
utilization as part of an aesthetical stressing of gardens, village greens
or squares or railway stations. The extensive photographic collection pays
attention to the relations between these buildings and their owners and the
original adumbrations: Panegyric, patriotic publications on Czech castles
and mansions, teaching about the Czech lands.


Tomas Pospech was born in 1974. Earned a Bachelor´s degree in Art History in
Art Hostory and Theory from the Palacký University, Olomouc (1995), a
Master´s degree in the same discipline from the Charles University, Prague
(1999), and a Master´s degree from the Institute of Creative Photography,
Faculty of Philosophy and Science, Silesian University in Opava (1998).
Teaches at Institute of Creative Photography, Head of the Theory Section at
the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Tomas Bata University, Zlín, since
1997. An active critic and researcher in photography, visual arts and
history of architecture. 

At the centre of Tomas Pospech´s creative work is documentary photography
(see his contributions to projects People in the Hlucin Area in the 1990s,
and The People of Zlín, personalised documentary series Islands, the
Rýnovice prison series, his book showing the construction of a Philips
factory in Hranice in 2001, etc.), contemporary still life, and occasionally
happenings and performance art.
