Loop pool

Idea: Loop is a magic moment that never ends: a perpetuum mobile of
audiovisual emotion.
Invitation: You are cordially invited to participate in the Loop project of
“Raum fuer Projektion” (space for projection). We would be very happy if you
create a loop for this project. Do something new or use material you already
shot / produced.
Final product: The final product will be a DVD & a Screening Tape of Video
Loops by different Video Artists & Filmmakers. It will be released as DVD
and will be shown on different screenings by “Raum fuer Projektion” and
elsewhere.
Presentation: Loop pool will be presented for the first time during three
nights at the Festival Lounge of “International Short Film Festival
Oberhausen” (7th-9th of May 2005);

Technical requirements: It is possible to create Audio- and Videoloops with
the DVD Format. There is only one restriction: At the track-changing point
the DVD is pausing on the last frame and the sound stops for a moment until
the video starts again. Please keep that in mind if you create your video
loop. If the video loop is short we can loop it smoothly and postpone the
track point. Scheme: loop | loop | loop | loop... loop | breack point |
loop...

Loops can be with sound or silent. Please keep in mind that Loops are to be
watched again and again and that Sound has to be chosen very carefully not
to be bothering after a while. Depending on the Loops that are produced we
consider to show them with live DJ or live music during the screenings.
Length of Loop can vary (appr. a few seconds and max. a few minutes). We ask
every participant to create one video loop. Please don´t hesitate to contact
us for further explanations or anything else.

Format: Please send a DV-file (NTSC or PAL, on DVD-R or CD-R) or a Mini-DV
tape (PAL only) to: Wolfgang Burat, Alteburgerstrasse 40, D-50678 Köln,
Germany.

Deadline: 15th of April 05 (the premiere is scheduled on the 7th of May 05)
Financial Arrangement: The DVD label “Raum fuer Projektion” is publishing
“Loop Pool”. There will be no Screening Fee for the presentation during
“International Short Film Festival Oberhausen”. Instead the Festival will
pay for a DVD edition of 1000 (including promotional copies). Each artist
receives four specimen copies. The other DVDs will be sold. The wholesale
price minus the cost of promotion and distribution goes to the participating
artists & the label (70% artists / 30% label). The same arrangement is valid
for further screening fees. Please keep in mind that returns will be most
likely small.

Raum fuer Projektion is a temporary projection space and a DVD Label based
