MadCat Film Festival Internship Opportunity
Description: MadCat seeks organized, detail oriented, professional and hard
working interns! Internships will include a selection of the following
duties depending on each individual¹s experience.

MadCat¹s Background
Founded in 1996 the MadCat Women¹s International Film Festival is a forum
which highlights avant-garde, experimental and independent films and videos
from around the globe. MadCat¹s annual Festival takes place each September
in the Bay Area and tours across to universities, museums and art houses
around the US inviting audiences of all backgrounds to view and learn about
experimental filmmaking.
Internship Opportunities
·Administration: MadCat always needs general administrative support
including: database entry, assisting with mailings, filing and answering
phones. Mac knowledge and good phone skills are a must. It would be
wonderful if you know one or all of the following: Filemaker Pro, Excel and
the Web. Knowledge of Photoshop, Quark and Quick Books a plus.
·Assistant Tour Coordinator: Help organize and book the next MadCat tour.
Research Universities, Art Houses and Museums that might be interested in
MadCat¹s touring programs. Create relationships with venues around the
country and set up screenings. Help spread the word about MadCat and expand
the festival to audiences around the country and perhaps around the world.
·Press: drafting press releases, sending out press releases, doing follow up
calls, getting artwork to newspapers and magazines, setting up interviews,
pitching articles. Good written and interpersonal skills a must!
·Fundraising: MadCat is looking for an assistant to help research and write
grants. Prior experience is a plus, strong written skills a must!
·Sponsorship/Co-presenter Coordinator: Work with local and national
businesses to sponsor the Festival. Coordinate with local non-profits to
help promote the Festival and get the word out to new and diverse audiences.
·Web Site Maintenance: Are you a wiz at HTML? If so, help keep the MadCat
web site updated.
Hours:12-25 hours a week.
Duration : three-month commitment.

*Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*Ability to work independently and take initiative.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The MadCat Women¹s International Film Festival is now accepting submissions
for its 9th annual Festival. MadCat seeks provocative and visionary films
and videos directed or co-directed by women. The Festival is committed to
showcasing women directors from around the globe who challenge the use of
sound and image and explore notions of visual story telling. MadCat screens
works of ALL lengths and genres, about any topic and that are produced ANY
year. MadCat sets itself apart from other women's festivals by curating its
programs thematically and thus accepting a range of films about many
different issues. MadCat is also committed to finding the most diverse group
of filmmakers possible and is doing extensive outreach to international
filmmakers and filmmakers of color.

EXHIBITION FORMATS:
35mm, 16mm, Super8, Beta SP, Mini DV, VHS.
Entry Fee: $10-30 Sliding Scale. Pay what you can afford.
No submission fee for international entrants!
