POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

The Faculty of Communications and Creative Industries is seeking a
highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Democracy and Interactive
Media Environments to research in the area of new media and e-democracy.


The successful candidate will have a background in political science
and media/communication studies. An interest in the current situation
in Asia or Interactive Media Theory would also be an advantage. The
appointee will be expected to contribute to the research profile of
the School of Communications and Multimedia through publication, the
active pursuit of external grants and the design of research
projects. In addition the appointee will contribute to the School's
activities at the Western Australian Interactive TV Audience Research
Laboratory. They will be part of a dynamic research group in an
emerging field of study and have the opportunity to make a
significant contribution to this field.

A recently completed Ph.D. in Media Studies, Communications Studies
or Political Science or equivalent is required with proven research
achievement in new media analysis, with an emphasis on e-governance.

This three year fixed-term position attracts remuneration of $57,295
to $76,880 pa, commensurate with experience and qualifications, and
includes University superannuation contribution with a salary
component of $48,970 to $65,710 pa.
