This new competitive Festival was created by the American Film Institute in partnership with the Discovery Channel, one of the world's premier nonfiction producing entities. The five-day Festival will be held annually at the newly restored, state-of-the-art AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in metropolitan Washington, DC. The Festival will include film premieres, international documentary screenings, post-screening forums, curated nonfiction exhibits, awards, a filmmaker fellowship and industry programs.
