Submissions for an Exchange of Curators Switzerland (Basel) 2003
The Arts Council of Switzerland Pro Helvetia offices in the Visegrad
countries organise in co-operation with iaab (International Artists
Exchange Programme of the Region Basel, Switzerland) an exchange programme
for each two curators from Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in
the iaab-studios in the region of Basel. In exchange two curators will come
from Switzerland into each country of the Visegrad group. Aim of this
exchange is to improve the co-operation in the area of visual arts between
Switzerland and the Visegrad countries.
Conditions
Eligible are curators having their residence or place of work in Czech
Republic, Hungary, Poland or Slovakia. Good oral command of English or
German are required.
Date
The scholarship will be granted for 4 - 6 weeks between 15/5 and 30/6/2003.
Financial conditions
Pro Helvetia guarantees a sufficient contribution for living and
travelling. iaab (International Artists Exchange Programme) will provide
accommodation and support in Switzerland.
Obligations of the participants
Curators participating have to accept an agreement with Pro Helvetia.
Within one month after finishing the exchange the curator is expected to
hand in a report (photo or slides documentation, diary, video or text) to
the project manager.
Application
Applicants have to hand in a letter of application including a CV
(including knowledge of languages) and documentation. The documentation
shall inform about already realised exhibition projects or other curative
activities. The letter of application has to include what kind of
experience or motivation the curator can contribute and which project idea
she/he wants to realise. Deadline 15/01/2003 (date of posting)
Selection process
The programme manager of Pro Helvetia offices in Zurich will check and
discuss all incoming applications. The team of Pro Helvetia will decide
about participants until end of February 2003.
