Maid in Cyberspace / Les HTMlles : Le festival de cyberart

Studio XX is seeking artists proposals for the fifth
edition of the Maid
in Cyberspace Web art Festival. The theme for the upcoming
festival is The Double, the Multiple and Contamination in Web Art.
The next edition of Maid in Cyberspace will reflect upon questions
relating to the creation and the presentation of Web art.
Works selected will reflect on concepts of the other, the shadow and the=20
notion of contamination present in Web art.
A questioning of the genre or an effort to go beyond its limits will be=20
highlighted.
We are particularly interested in work that questions off screen, off=20
monitor space or suggests unusual and/or different manners of presenting=20
Web art.
SUBMISSIONS :
Submissions are welcome for on-line projects and installations.
Applications should be sent to Studio XX via email or snail mail.
All submissions must include:
o Name, home address, telephone number, email.
o URL address of the Web project.
o A brief artist's statement (250 words).
o A short description of the Web project or Web
installation (250
words).
Deadline for application is November 30th 2001.
Artists will be notified in December of the outcome. Only
completed projects will be accepted.

Le Studio XX lance un appel de dossiers pour sa cinqui=E8me
=E9dition du festival de cyberart Les HTMlles.
La th=E9matique cette ann=E9e est : Le double, le multiple et la
contamination dans l'art Web.
Une r=E9flexion =E0 propos du contexte de cr=E9ation et du
contexte de pr=E9sentation des =9Cuvres d'art Web sera au c=9Cur de cette=20
cinqui=E8me =E9dition.
Pour cette cinqui=E8me =E9dition, le Studio XX est =E0 la recherche d=92=9Cu=
vres qui=20
s=92interrogent sur l=92alt=E9rit=E9, l'ombre, la contamination et qui
questionnent (ou tentent de d=E9passer) les limites du genre. Ainsi, des
artistes qui travaillent la question de l=92hors-champ, de l=92hors-cadre,
de l=92hors-moniteur, sont invit=E9es =E0 pr=E9senter leurs =9Cuvres.
L'=E9dition 2002 du festival de cyberart du Studio XX portera aussi sur la=
=20
question du double inh=E9rente =E0 la constitution m=EAme du
Web. Par sa nature, l'art Web est un art hybride, m=E9tiss=E9, pluriel. Le=
=20
festival tentera de voir, comment les artistes, dans Internet,
posent les questions relatives aux autres champs disciplinaires et
aux autres espaces physiques et/ou virtuels.
DOSSIERS :
Les dossiers doivent =EAtre envoy=E9s au Studio XX par courriel ou par la
poste.
Le dossier doit inclure :
+ Nom, adresse r=E9sidentielle, num=E9ro de t=E9l=E9phone,
courriel.
+ L=92adresse URL du projet Web.
+ Une br=E8ve description de la d=E9marche artistique (250
mots).
+ Un curriculum vitae.
+ Une br=E8ve description du projet Web ou de
l'installation Web (250
mots).
Date limite de r=E9ception des projets: 30 novembre 2001.
