Due to the volume of enquiries about BB2 we have decided to extend the
deadline for submissions.

New deadline - Noon 9th January 2002

If you have already made an application and wish to update it please

Burning Bush 2: Doing Time


Doing Time is an event providing opportunities for artists to realise new
works. It aims to raise the awareness of experimental live and performed
arts and provide exposure to new and existing audiences.

Doing Time will be a series of process based artists presentations and
commissions culminating in a 3 day city-wide event in May 2002. This event
will include live / performative art, utilising technologies and the
broader traditions of installation art, developing partnerships with public
and private sector organisations across Dundee.

The programming panel are currently seeking proposals from artists, on the
theme of work in relation to 'pastime' and 'passing time' that may address
some of the following issues:

- How people pass time (their lifetime) - the freedom to choose how to pass
time; what kind of choices people make and how they make them
- Leisure time - use of this time within different socio-economic groups
- The future of work and leisure
- Self determination - the potential and ability of the individual
- Control over time - e.g. work places that strictly control individuals'
time; clocking in/out; the measures taken to monitor the way time is spent
within a work place.

Burning Bush 2 has a modest budget, which can support a number of
commissions between =A3500.00-=A33000.00 depending on need. We actively
encourage any partnership funding.

If you are interested in applying to Burning Bush 2 - Doing Time, please
send no more than two A4 pages outlining your proposal, a summary budget,
CV and examples of recent work to: Burning Bush 2, C/o Exhibitions Office,
